Hurd State Park East Haddam, Near Cobalt CT
Load up the car and bring mom, dad, little sister, little brother, the whole crew (but no pets, sorry) to camp for a two-night experience or stay for the day at
Gay City Park Hebron.
Family camping is a terrific opportunity for folks that are new to camping to ‘test their wings’ in a safe setting with experienced Scouts and Scouters on hand to help, and is a perfect way to expose a future Boy Scout to the outdoor camping experience.
The Family Camp program is designed to allow families to participate in all kinds of activities together. Families can cast a line in the Connecticut river, learn about our natural world, hike around camp and more. One highlight of this program is the evening campfire. As you can see, there will be lots of fun activities for everyone. Each family supplies their own equipment (Tent, sleeping bag utensils, plate and cup),some assistance may be available – contact Dan Duchesneau 860-228-6720 and meals are provided as part of the camp fee.
